Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey is a Swedish-born translator/dramaturg/playwright who specializes in the language and plays of Ibsen and Strindberg. Her unique platform translations have served a wide range of productions, from academic, to regional theatre, to Broadway, including adaptations by David Chambers, Jon Robin Baitz, Christopher Shinn, Kirsten Brandt, Mabou Mines, and others. Committed to providing global access to these works, she provided source texts for local language productions in Mysore, India and Beijing. She has translated/dramaturged seventeen plays by Strindberg as well as TYA plays by experimental Unga Klara and the Puppet Theatre TITTUT. Ibsen productions include Ghosts (Old Globe; North Coast Rep), Hedda Gabler (South Coast Rep; Broadway 2001 and 2009; North Coast Rep), Intimate Ibsen (ion), and A Doll's House (Old Globe; Raven Theatre 2020). She is the author of Fade to White and Dinner With Marlene. She is Professor Emerita of Theatre at San Diego State University.
