Celeste dwells with loving parents in the harsh land of Codencia Minor. Though life is hard she has friends and family within comfort of a small village. Natural disaster and violent invasion end that way of life abruptly. Celeste and her mother are driven from their home to find shelter in a remote coastal haven. There Celeste raises a young Falcon who becomes her constant companion as she grows into a strong, stubborn and independent woman, but with the shadow of a prophecy and the apparent loss of her father hanging over her. Celeste must overcome her love of isolation and suspicion of men, and return with her Falcon to the village of her birth. There she renews a childhood friendship with Bracen whilst her mother reveals long hidden details of her father's past.
