J.T. Holden's primary creative influence was his maternal grandfather, an Irishman and amateur storyteller who passed away when J.T. was still a boy. But his grandfather's love of limericks and rhyming poetry continued to influence him into adulthood and eventually led to his first book Alice in Verse: The Lost Rhymes of Wonderland, a reimagining of the Lewis Carroll classic, written entirely in rhyming verse. He is also the author of the forthcoming books Bedtime Tales for Naughty Children, a collection of spooky rhyming poetry based upon legends, folklore, and faerie tales, and O the Dark Things You'll See!, a spooky parody/homage to the Dr.Seuss classic Oh, the Places You'll Go!.
