A continuation of the author's Speak Vietnamese , the work is based on the speech of educated people conversing in daily life and not on the formal language found in public speeches or literary works. Each of the book's fif­teen lessons is divided into six parts: (1) conversation, (2) vocabulary, (3) pat­tern drills, (4) grammar notes, (5) pro­nunciation, and (6) translation.
