This training pack is a practical resource for organisations wishing to involve young people in the recruitment of staff, volunteers and mentors. It will be particularly useful for agencies providing social care services to children and young people, such as residential child care and mentoring for care leavers, but can also be adapted for use by schools and health care providers who want to develop children's participation.Accredited by the London Open College Network, the training programme has been tried and tested with young people. All the young people who take part will gain transferable skills and confidence whether they want their learning to be formally accredited or not.The pack includes: a background to young people's involvement in recruitment information to assist organisations in the development of the necessary policy, procedures and structures information on the training and support needs of the young people training materials for a two-day course to give young people an understanding of the recruitment process and the skills to participate effectively.
