Deborah J. Harrison is an English teacher in the Pine Bush Central School District in Pine Bush, NY, teaching since 1998. She earned her B.A. in Secondary English Education and her M.P.S. in Multicultural and Humanistic Education from the SUNY New Paltz.


She completed G.E.D. Instructor Training in 2001 and the International Baccalaureate Certification Programs for English Instructors and CAS Coordinators in 2001 and 2002, respectively. Deborah has been a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, where she lives with her son and daughter. A Youth Minister from 1996-2004, she was an integral part of the development of a flourishing program at her church. In 2004, she was published in Teaching Exceptional Children and has done editorial work. She was listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 2000 and 2004.


A writer and photographer, she created www.onthispath.com in 2011. Participating in a variety of outreach, locally and beyond, she wants to build support systems for single mothers and promote self-esteem for girls and women and children with disabilities. Deborah is a co-founder of A Teacher's Light.Stephanie R. Singleton is a Special Education teacher at Pine Bush High School in Pine Bush, NY. She has been teaching since 1999.


She earned her B.A. in Spanish, with a concentration in Bi-Lingual Education, from the SUNY Brockport and SUNY New Paltz. Stephanie currently resides in the Hudson Valley. Happily married since 2000, she and her husband have two daughters. From 1998-2009, she and her husband participated in youth ministry extensively, contributing to the building of a strong program at their church. They are also involved in social service endeavors, are elders at their church, and do outreach in their community and surrounding areas. Stephanie is a co-founder of A Teacher's Light.


Deborah and Stephanie are deeply rooted in their faith in God, whose guidance and grace has made A Teacher's Light possible. They value the contributions made to education by people in various areas. They believe that everyone deserves a chance to receive respect and encouragement and that all of our youth need opportunities to embrace their individual intelligences.
