Rakesh K. Gupta is GE Plastics Professor of Chemical Engineering. West Virginia University, Morgantown. He is very active in research in the University's Constructed Facilities Center, whose mission it is to promote the use of fiber-reinforced polymer composites in construction. The author or coauthor of one textbook and more than 85 publications in the areas of polymer processing, rheology, and composite materials, Dr. Gupta is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the British Society of Rheology, the Society of Rheology, and the Society of Plastics Engineers. He received the B.Tech.
degree (1975) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and the Ph.D. degree (1980) in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware, Newark.
