Bootle to Babylon
When Stan Green retired from Customs and Excise in 1996 he harboured theidea of one day writing an autobiography. After the death of both his parents hebecame aware of how little he knew about their early lives. He suspects thattheir lives in the early part of the 20th Century during World War I and thedepression years of the Thirties were bleak and harsh, and they probablypreferred not to talk about them. He resolved however, to leave somethingbehind after his demise for benefit of his children and their offspring.
