Margaret Mayo Gibson was born and raised in South Philadelphia. She was educated at the Philadelphia High School for Girls, Temple University, the College of New Jersey, and Rutgers University. During Dr. Gibson's career, she served as a classroom teacher, school counselor, child development specialist, assistant professor at Rutgers University and West Chester University, and parenting consultant. Dr. Gibson is the author of parenting articles, devotionals, and the books A Seed in Good Soil, Parenting through Childhood Memories; Family Treasures, A Guide to Writing Your Life Stories; and Avanti! Tales of Love and Survival. Dr. Gibson and her husband, Thomas M.
Gibson, live in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.
