Robert Gandt is a former Navy fighter/attack pilot who logged over 300 day and night carrier landings in the A-4 Skyhawk. At age 20, he was the youngest aviator in the U.S. Navy. He has been a weapons test pilot, flight instructor, crop duster, and airshow pilot. As a captain for Pan Am and then Delta Air Lines, he was based in Hong Kong, Berlin, San Francisco, and New York, accumulating over 30,000 flying hours. In 1995 he returned to his old squadron to fly the F/A-18 Hornet and write about a class of men and women training to fly the Navy's hottest fighter. Gandt has written five previous non-fiction books.
His screen credits include the television series PENSACOLA: WINGS OF GOLD , as both writer and consultant. WITH HOSTILE INTENT is his first novel, and he is currently working on another Brick Maxwell adventure. He lives with his aerobatic airplanes in a flying community in Daytona Beach, Florida.
