Parting from the Maxwell equations, obtaining the Helmholtz equation and the Lagrangian principles of optics, this book obtains analytical close form solutions of the eikonal equation for all known stigmatic optical systems. These systems are the conics mirrors, the Cartesian oval, and the stigmatic singlet lens.
