Scott Galloway is an American academic and entrepreneur. Scott is a Clinical Professor at the NYU Stern School of Business where he teaches brand strategy and digital marketing. In 2012, Professor Galloway was named 'One of the World's 50 Best Business School Professors' by Poets & Quants. Scott is also the founder and Chairman of L2, a New York City-based business intelligence firm serving many of the world's most iconic consumer brands. His Digital IQ Index , based on an algorithm he authored, is considered the seminal metric, globally, for assessing a brands' digital competence. He also founded Red Envelope, an e-commerce firm (2002 NASDAQ IPO) and Prophet, a global brand strategy consultancy with 450+ professionals. Professor Galloway was elected to the World Economic Forum's Global Leaders of Tomorrow, which recognizes 100 individuals under the age of 40 "whose accomplishments have had impact on a global level." Scott has served on the boards of directors of Eddie Bauer (Nasdaq: EBHI), The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT), Gateway Computer, and UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
He received a BA from UCLA and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
