Detective Mason is back and still recovering from his last big case. Things are looking murky as he has now been ordered to take it easy from field work, his former partner Mia Parker has taken leave, and he now is forced to cope with a new partner and new captain. Mason sails with the flow of his new routine until he begins to gravitate toward a case that starts to peak his interest. One that would revolve around Bobby Valcomb, the oldest brother of the man Mason was forced to kill, Oscar Valcomb. Mason and his new partner try to topple the street gang lord, but instead find trouble around every corner. They even encounter a young child with extraordinary talents, including the ability to see immediate death to any who touch him. Just when Det. Mason believes he can take back control over Applegate, he is faced with both new and old foes, a missing young girl, and will soon find out that the angels and demons of his past will continue to haunt him, until they consume his very last breath.
