Thank you for selecting the GLVAR Publication, Real Estate Salesperson Pre-Licensing Course. This textbook was written to lay the foundation for your new career in real estate and to help you pass the national portion of the PSI real estate exam. All 50 states have their own real estate licensing authorities. As such, each state has determined its own educational requirements and what content is to be tested of new licensing applicants. PSI produces a publication entitled Candidate Information Bulletin that specifies the number of questions that will appear on the state exam per content category. We strongly encourage you to download the Candidate Information Bulletin from the PSI web site www.psiexams.com.
The bulletin will answer your many questions such as how to register, fees, site locations, passing scores, rules for testing, the computer system, exam content, state licensing requirements, and more. The PSI state exam consists of test questions that fall within two broad categories: the "national portion" will contain questions based on general real estate principles and practices that are applicable to the real estate practitioner regardless of his or her home state; while the "state portion" consists of issues and laws that are specific to that one state. The GLVAR Real Estate Salesperson Pre-Licensing Course was written specifically to coincide with the national portion of the PSI outline topic by topic. Testing companies like PSI hire test item writers and maintain a bank of test questions. Many will randomly select questions from the bank in order to produce an individual exam thus preventing future test takers from knowing all the answers. No one really knows what is in a state's bank of questions. Although we don't have access to any specific questions, we do know the types of questions that you may see. This textbook includes quizzes following each chapter and two practice final exams to further help you prepare.
The Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS(r) would like to take this opportunity to wish you the very best of success with the course, obtaining your license, and beginning a rewarding career in real estate.
