John Ferris was born in Brisbane Australia in 1955. He was always an avid reader, and displayed an interest in science and mathematics. His career has been diverse ranging from the automotive industry, chemical manufacturing, franchising and finance. John's qualifications are in counselling and community services. Since 2002, he has been involved in charity work in India and as Treasurer of an outreach program that addresses the needs of immigrants.
