Jim Ellison is married to Beth, and they have two sons, Will and Ben. He is a native of Tyrone, Georgia, a community twenty-five miles south of Atlanta. Jim is the Executive Director of Restoration ATL, a non-profit organization in Atlanta, Georgia, that serves women and children transitioning out of homelessness. The mission creates environments of restoration through spiritual retreats that bring together persons from all walks of life. Jim is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and over the past twenty-five years, has served congregations in the Atlanta area, including the historic Atlanta First United Methodist Church. Jim holds religious degrees from Young Harris College and LaGrange College, and a Masters of Divinity from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. In 2005, Jim earned a Doctorate of Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Kentucky. Jim enjoys thrift store shopping with his wife, fishing with his sons, and watching college football.
