Institutional Development Policies and Resource Strategies in Eastern Africa and India : Developing Winners or Losers
In many development contexts, there is a wide range of different agencies and arrangements, constituting a virtual universe of development institutions, which deserve attention for their role in the politics of resource mobilization, allocation and extraction. The premise of this book is that critical assessment of development policies and initiatives requires examining the institutional arrangements that give shape to specific patterns of interaction, relations of power and distributions of burdens and benefits, and calls for special attention to the politics of institutional design.
