Adequate nutrient intakes are fundementally important both throughout and after pregnancy, for both the health of the mother and her child. This book explains what pregnant women in the UK are currently eating and whether dietary targets are being met. The book also includes valuable information about patterns of physical activity and gastrointestinal function throughout and after pregnancy and how these change as a range of physiological processes take place. This research followed and collected data about the dietary and lifestyle patterns of pregnant women throughout the three trimesters of pregnancy and after birth - work that has not been undertaken in detail previously. We hope you enjoy reading the monograph.
