The author, Dr. Earl C Davis, is a native of Florida and has held pastorates in several states. His sermons are found in various collections of outstanding sermons; his published works include Christ at the Door, The Stories Jesus Told, When the Sparrow Falls, and The Tragedy of Remembering Jesus, among other titles. Now retired to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina with his wife Pegeen, he is in his ninth interim pastorate in western North Carolina at this writing.
