Business Travel Conferences, Incentive Travel, Exhibitions, Corporate Hospitality and Corporate Travel Rob Davidson and Beulah Cope Business travel is a fast-expanding sector of the travel and tourism industry, accounting for between one quarter and one third of travel-related spending in most developed countries. In recognition of the crucial part it plays in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness with which business is conducted throughout the world, the study of business travel is now becoming an essential element of many higher education courses. Nevertheless, despite the increasing popularity of this subject area, very few textbooks focus on this key element of travel, tourism and hospitality. Business Travel meets the needs of students and lecturers alike by covering, in depth, all sectors of business-related travel in an analytical manner and providing a sound practical and theoretical context for the study of this subject at the higher education level. Features: - written by experienced lecturers specialising in business travel teaching and research- a comprehensive and in-depth study of the worldwide business tourism market- packed with detailed case studies and examples- covers topical issues such as the use of information and communications technology, return-on-investment, ethical issues and the impact of terrorism on business travel- provides opportunities for enhanced student learning through learning objectives, suggestions for further research, a comprehensive glossary of terms and full references Business Travel is suitable for travel and tourism, leisure, events management and hospitality students at undergraduate, HND/HNC and postgraduate levels. It also provides useful reading for students taking part-time, in-service courses offered by many of the associations whose members are employed in organising and marketing conferences, exhibitions, incentive trips, corporate hospitality events and corporate business travel services. Rob Davidson is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism at the University of Westminster, specialising in conference and business travel. He has extensive experience both in teaching and working within tourism, including nine years in France teaching at two universities, at the ESSEC-Cornell Institute of Management in Paris, and at the CERAM Management School, Sophia-Antipolis.

Prior to that, he spent five years as Education and Training Manager with the British Tourist Authority in London. He has published a range of articles and research papers on various aspects of business travel and tourism, and wrote the UK's first textbook on this theme in 1994. Beulah Cope is Programme Director for Undergraduate International Business Awards at the University of the West of England. Her career includes positions as Chief Examiner for the Guild of Business Travel Agents Management Certificate, Visiting Professor of Tourism at the University of Perpignan, and Education Representative for City and Guilds Travel Services Training Committee. She has acted as consultant on numerous tourism projects.
