Unwillingly to School
Janet Creswell is struggling to come to terms with her husband's sudden death when she receives a visit from Richard Medley, a former pupil at Brantwood preparatory school in Sussex, where in 1944 she'd been matron. Their meeting evokes memories. However, it also raises serious doubts regarding the headmaster, Edward Blackstone, as well as questions about the maltreatment of the boys. And his drowning in the swimming pool - had it been an accident, or murder? Her curiosity piqued, Janet meets people involved in the school at that time, and finally discovers the truth about those distant, disturbing events.
