The IM contains suggestions for creating a class schedule (with sample), using group activities and reinforcing first-year-in-college skills, using journals, incorporating the use of the CD-ROM with the text, grading, and using portfolios. It also contains additional journal and writing assignments, numerous student handouts, two additional tests for each skill, and additional editing tests.
