On a fateful emergency call, Meg meets June, a single woman running a horse ranch in the California Sierra foothills. Always wanting to ride, Meg soon finds herself on a horse under June's careful direction. The two become quick friends but Meg realises she wants more than a friendship. Meg's attraction seems to only push June, who believes she is straight, anyway. On the side, June is embroiled in a fight against land developers to save her water rights and tied up in a family struggle to keep control of the ranch. After Meg steps in to help save the ranch, June slowly comes to terms with her own feelings toward Meg. Neither June nor Meg feel prepared for what lies ahead at the ranch as they forge their lives together.
