Olga Tokarczuk (on whose work I Nina is based) is the winner of the Man Booker and Nobel Prizes in Literature (among many others) and one of the most celebrated and well-known Polish fiction writers today. Her works have been widely published in the USA and around the world. Her works have also been adapted into film, TV, and the stage. The book is based on a still untranslated work by Olga Tokarczuk. At the moment, this will be the only way to experience this work in English. The story deals with popular dystopian and post-apocalyptic themes. I, Nina, critique social credit and social media, two essential and evergreen news topics. The main character, Nina, is LGBTQ.
Feminist themes are explored in the narrative. Will appeal to sci-fi fans of dystopian science fiction such as: JG Ballard, William Gibson, Enki Bilal, Moebius, Stanislaw Lem, Octavia Butler, and Ursula Le Guin.
