Enrique O. Sanchez draws from warm memories of his childhood in the Dominican Republic to create the illustrations in this book. Primarily a fine artist, he has illustrated over thirteen books for children, including, A is for the Americas, Abuela's Weave and Look At Me. He also owns an extensive drum collection. A conga player as well as an artist, he shares his passion for art and music with his son, Aron, who is also a musician and an artist.His newest Scholastic title, A Doll for Navidades, is chock full of Enrique's vibrant illustrations.
