Congratulations on taking the first step toward better health and posture! This 10 Step Guide demonstrates a daily exercise routine that will assist in reducing stress and tension; open joints and improve strength, flexibility and balance throughout your entire body. Awareness of the connection between the body and the mind (bio-feedback) will further assist in reducing fat in those specific areas, especially where the muscle is working from the inside out.The movements in this guide will strengthen the core muscle groups, mobilize the lumbar spine and increase the body?s natural range of motion. Training these core muscles are important as they control all of the vertebral column?s movements and help stabilize vertebral posture during work or movement of the limbs. Furthermore, implementing the correct body set-up (pages 2-5) will ensure that the exercises are executed properly and in the most effective way possible. It is time to take a fresh look at the prevention of back injuries rather than face the frustration of treating them after they have occurred. Many back problems can be prevented if people were made more aware of the below risk factors and how to reduce the risks. A large number of today?s population suffer from the same back care issues as a result of remaining in a seated position for excessive periods of time (driving, seated at a desk etc.

). Effective education is the key!Back problems are usually the result of the cumulative effect of five major factors: 1.Poor Posture ? how we sit, stand and move.2.Faulty Body Mechanics ? how we lift, push, pull, or move objects.3.Stressful Living and Working Habits ? staying in one position for too long or not learning to relax.4.

Loss of Body Flexibility ? becoming stiff and unable to utilize the full range of the body?s movement capabilities. 5.Poor Physical Condition ? losing the strength and endurance necessary to perform physical tasks without strain. I developed this 10-step guide using my own interpretation on health and fitness, as well as applying Bruce Lee?s philosophy of Jeet Kune Do, which suggests that we take what is needed from the various concepts/systems in order to personalize exercises for individuals. By performing these 10 steps on a daily basis, you will promote better health, balance and posture.
