"The volume is introduced by an essay by Germano Celant, followed by nineteen texts authored by national and international experts in the field and grouped together by theme. Six large foldouts, prefaced by a short explanatory text, are interspersed with the critical essays. They reproduce the "poster-ensembles" related to the main techniques used by the artist . Their sequence mirrors the display at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome. Each foldout is followed by a vast selection of exhibited works, reproduced full-page and accompanied by some of the artist's statements on his poetics.
