Now and Then : An Autobiography
This autobiography of Roy Castle provides a frank, vivid and often funny account of Castle's life on and off stage. He describes his happy childhood and of the heyday of variety theatre, working with for example, Sir Harry Secombe, Eric Morecambe and Jimmy James. Also featured is his 22-year stint in Record Breakers in which his feats included the 400-foot death slide from the top of Blackpool Tower and the three-hour, 23-minute wing walk from Gatwick to Le Bourget in Paris.
