Jeff Cannon was a fast-track entrepreneur with a portfolio of successful businesses. Until, that is, it all came to a crashing halt in 2009.That was the day he woke up on a hospital bed with the news that he had not one, but seven brain tumors. They ranged in size from a small pea to a large tangerine, compressing his brain and changing his life for good. They were the most likely the result of stress caused by a 24/7 workaholic lifestyle that was literally killing him. Expecting a long recovery, he shuttered his business, let his staff go, and closed the door on his old life. After a ten hour operation, six of the seven tumors were removed. The seventh, located in a high-risk area, remains to this day.
It is part of his own Simple Truth.Jeff spent the next four months watching as his brain rebooted itself. He spent his waking hours learning about the advances Western science was making toward understanding the teachings of Eastern philosophies. He also learned firsthand how the brain was wired and more important how it could be "re-wired" through tools and practices like meditation and mindfulness. With one tumor still in his head, Jeff returned to a meditation practice that was once a mainstay of his life. He reconnected with yoga. He changed his diet and habits. Most important he created a program that helped him break his old programming and start to life a new life.
He calls this practice Living with CaRE, and now teaches it to others. It is an essential part to finding and living his life by his own Simple Truth. One year after his surgery Jeff returned to his doctor's office to discuss the final tumor. After viewing the new MRI of Jeff's head he recalls being as stunned as his surgeon. The tumor that at one time had grown so quickly was now unchanged. "I don't know what you've been doing, but keep doing it. It seems to be working," was all his doctor said.Today Jeff meditates every morning.
His is one step away from vegan, and yoga now plays a primary part in his life. He now consults with individuals and business owners to teach them the lessons he have learned. The Simple Truth is more than Jeff Cannon's story. It is they key to finding and living the life you love by your own Simple Truth."In the end my life is richer and healthier as a result of those tumors. There's nothing mysterious about what I learned. I simply want to pass that knowledge on to those around me. The Simple Truth is my way of doing that.
