Niccolo Caldararo, Ph.D., teaches in the Department of Anthropology at SanFrancisco State University. He also teaches in the Bioscience Department of City College of San Francisco. His research has focused on Biological Anthropologyand human evolution, artifact analysis and conservation as well as Medical Anthropology.His articles have appeared in Nature, Radiocarbon and American Anthropologist amongother professional journals. He has also published on human disease patterns and behavior, especially on the AIDS epidemic and the effect human societies have had on the environment. His present work investigates the nature of disease avoidance and culture as well as the density of human sedentary life and its relation to disease and pathology.
