This book expresses the uniqueness of African American girls. We are powerful in our skin, we dominate in our ambition and we love with the passion of the Christ. The world has opened doors for our creativity, sophistication and extraordinary beauty. The universe has not revealed all that we possess on the inside. As survivors of ancestors with an untold strength and resilience we are truly over-comers of a tragedy that has never been fully explained or acknowledged. Yet we are here to create a new historical perspective of our heritage and culture. We are here to stay. We are here to sound the alarm that our black is beautiful.
