Have you ever received bad news? My bet is that if you have lived long enough, you have. Heck, it happens to everyone. What is the quote? "Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans." We received bad news in 2002. Let me preface this by saying if your meeting includes two doctors and a member of the clergy, it is not likely to be a positive experience. We had such a meeting where we were told there was a significant medical issue with our unborn son. To say we were anxious and lost at the end of the meeting would be an understatement. What we wanted was for someone to tell us how our life was going to turn out.
What we needed was guidance, and not a lot of that was forthcoming. We encourage anyone to read what we have written. We think an awful lot can be taken from it. When we sat down to write this, we had in mind those couples who have had that meeting. You know, the one with the doctors and the priest. Truth to tell, we believe that anyone who has gone through tough times can benefit from our experiences. We can't predict your future, but we can give you a bit of guidance. We have tried to give tips that we have learned.
Tell you about things we have discovered about ourselves and others. All by telling our story as a family. In the end, we have tried to give you something we needed most, and that is hope.
