Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Michael first studied speech and drama at Auckland University under Mervyn Thompson and then did a four-year training in speech with Virginia Brett. Since 1988 he has practised artistic speech and drama in various ways - as a writer, speech performer, actor, speech therapist and voice teacher.Michael wrote "This War is Not Inevitable" in January 2017. Between May and October of that year he toured it with Ryan Kouroukis, performing it in New Zealand, Australia, UK, Ireland, Slovenia and Germany. He is the writer of "The Working of the Spirit", a new mystery drama that follows the four written by Rudolf Steiner. In this play, based on an outline written by Marke Levene, the Threefold Social Organism and the significance of finding a new way to work spiritually with money are major themes. Michael also gives children's performances, conduct voice classes and teaches chirophonetic therapy (a form of therapy that uses touch and the sounds of human speech). When he is not touring, he lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
