Cassandra is the daughter of King Priam of Troy and suffers the tragic destiny of being able to see truly what will happen while not being believed by those around her. The drama is a study of three very different types of women: Cassandra, Helen and Clytemnestra. Cassandra is at first a picture of someone unearthly who hears a different drum from everyone else, but she comes to a new freedom shortly before her death; Helen is an opportunist, in every way opposite to Cassandra and Clytemnestra battles with the demons within her and then gives in to them when she murders her husband. Agamemnon, general of the Greek forces and husband (and eventual victim) of Clytemnestra, is the main male part. Five additional parts beside these four main parts are included.
