LEAVING THE TREES is a novel that predicts and examines the coming cyber war among nations. It describes the possible meltdown of our global society as we know it. Just as we see in the press today, it has at its root cause, the political gridlock we are now in that finally causes everything to spin out of control. Civilization collapses. Survivors, led by a military leader in the mountains of Montana, must try to survive in a homestead they create. It is initially set in Washington D.C. with political leaders who do not deal effectively with a cyberattack on our global financial systems.
As things begin to unravel, and society loses the ability to cope, things just stop working and there is a global meltdown of everything. At this point the novel sharply transitions to the future and the aftermath of this meltdown. The last two thirds of the book portrays how, well off of the grid with no food or electricity, a small community in Montana must pick up the pieces and learn how to survive with what they have left and how they must live. Their battle for survival centers on safe food sources and the fight for it. It is a suspense novel about trust, courage, betrayal and revenge that is filled with many twists, and turns. It received an outstanding review in the Prepper Journal. "Leaving The Trees is a great story and I can't wait for the next one." --March 31, 2014.
