Wanting to save the Oak Ridges Moraine, a beautiful, delicate, 12,000-year-old Canadian eco-system, Blaze the White Komondor and his friends race to the Moraine on a wild, fun expedition to stop a developer from building a shopping mall. Out to save the Moraine from Bad Brad the developer are: ? Blaze, a White Komondor who loves playing Bocce Ball almost as much as he loves quoting Sir Winston Churchill. ? Nefertiti, a Black Puli who adores her Furberry Fashions. ? Torio, a Towhee who flies from Vancouver to Toronto (with her Vera Wag bag) to audition for 'Miss Saigon.' ? Stinky, a glamorous Stinkpot Turtle who impersonates Elvis Presley. ? Sammy, a Yiddish-speaking Six-Spotted Fishing Spider. Humorously told in rhyming couplets, Blaze Saves the Moraine is the first in a trilogy of stories that illustrate the real-life plight of animals and their environment as they face careless human development. Environmental and multi-cultural, Blaze Saves the Moraine teaches that: "No matter your culture, your race or your feather, we all can make a difference if we work and stand together!" Dana Brooks is an actress/comedienne and writer who lives in downtown Toronto, Canada, with her best friend, Border Collie Daisy Duz.
