Cheryl Rhodes (with Tony Bove) wrote more than two dozen published books on computing, desktop publishing, and multimedia. These include bestselling titles such as The Art of Desktop Publishing, Free Software, Desktop Publishing with PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator: The Official Handbook for Designers, The Well-Connected Macintosh, Official Macromedia Director Studio, and iPod and iTunes For Dummies. They founded Desktop Publishing/Publish and User's Guide magazines and the Bove & Rhodes Inside Report on New Media newsletter, and wrote the weekly Macintosh column for Computer Currents for over a decade, as well as articles for NeXTWORLD, the Chicago Tribune, NewMedia, Macintosh Today, Prodigy Online, and the Whole Earth Software Catalog. Tracing the personal computer revolution back to the 1960s counterculture, Bove & Rhodes produced a CD-ROM interactive multimedia documentary in 1996, Haight-Ashbury in the Sixties (featuring music from the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and Jefferson Airplane). They also developed the Rockument music site, www.rockument.com, with commentary and podcasts focused on rock music history, and the Tony's Tips app for iPhone and iPad users. Cheryl Rhodes currently provides technical assistance and media for a northern California entertainment company, and works with elementary school students using augmentative communication and assistive technology tools to overcome learning roadblocks.
