David Bouchard is one of Canada's best-selling and award-winning authors. His books for young readers include Nokum is My Teacher , The Song Within My Heart , The Drum Calls Softly and An Aboriginal Carol . He lives in western Canada. Pam Aleekuk grew up on the prairies and is of Métis descent. She has worked for many years in the aboriginal community both in Canada's North as well as with the First Nations of Alberta. Pamela has been nominated twice for the Governor General's Award for Excellence in teaching Canadian History. Currently Pamela is an educator working in Edmonton, Alberta and enjoys teaching English, and writing in her spare time. Leonard Paul is a widely acclaimed painter born in Halifax, whose art has been featured in exhibits around the world.
