BOTOND BOGNAR studied architecture in Budapest, Hungary and Los Angeles, USA. He has practised as an architect in both Hungary and Japan and is currently Professor of Architecture at the University of Illinois. He has researched extensively into Japanese architecture and has lectured throughout the world on contemporary architecture and urbanism in Japan. He has previously edited Minoru Takeyama, Architectural Monograph No 42 (1995), Japanese Architecture (1988) and Japanese Architecture II (1992).
