Ms. Amy Blackwell was born on an army base in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Amy Blackwell developed a love for reading and writing at an early age. As a product of the University City Public School District, she was trained, nurtured, and taught to problem solve and persevere. Since then, she has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Webster University; a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from Harris-Stowe State University; a Master's degree from Lindenwood University in Education Administration and Special Reading certificate which certified her as a Reading Specialist. Currently, this young Black woman is pursuing a Doctorate from Maryville University in Educational Leadership that she expects to receive in May of 2021. Today, you can find her teaching English Language Arts to freshmen at a local high school in St.
Louis's North County.
