Leslie Bilderback is a chef (currently working at N/naka in Culver City), culinary instructor, food columnist, and author of 15 cooking and food books, including the most recent, Salt: The Essential Guide to Cooking with the Most Important Ingredient in Your Kitchen (St. Martin's Griffin). She is also a closet musician, and a wannabe rock star.

She lives in Southern California, where she and her family go to a lot of rock shows. Chef Bilderback was lucky enough to be at the EODM record release show at the Teragram Ballroom, less than a month before the Paris attacks, and feels a strong connection to the fans of Paris.
