Neal Bertrand is from Opelousas, Louisiana. He moved to Lafayette in the mid-1970s. He has 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. He has traced his ancestry back ten generations to the 1700s. His patriot ancestor, for whom he was inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution, was Amable Bertrand who was a Corporal in the Galvez Expedition.
