These works, or "hacks", were created through a process of immersion into the great protean poem/texts of "Six Months Aint No Sentence" by Jim Leftwich. Leftwich's texts served as a source of hidden or explicit content, structure, resonance or echoing of other texts by other people from my own experience, of words and phrases chosen as if from a randomly consulted dictionary, words which caught my attention and were reflective of my own themes and manias; all of which resulted in these new and quite different text/poems, which are also quite different from anything else I've written, because they are resonant of Leftwich's originals, often in ways that are not obvious. The result, for me, is a unique, complex, multi-voiced, and fascinatingly mysterious corpus of writing. - John M. Bennett.
