Having grown up in an abusive home, Johnny sought relief on the inner-city streets of Dayton, Ohio, and started using drugs at an early age. It manifested into a chemical dependency, and the result was a life of heartache and spiritual turmoil. From 2008 to 2009, Johnny began shooting heroin. It wasn't long after that he was sentenced to two years in prison. It was there that God did for Johnny what he was never able to do for himself. 87 Sundays is the story of his journey, a long road out of hell while gaining freedom through a relationship with Jesus Christ on a path of restoration. Recovery is not an event, it is a destination. For Johnny, it took 87 Sundays to experience a spiritual awakening, and the journey still continues.
