As it is a nutritious seed nut crop and uses are of many folds it is interesting to know the details of crop. In this book all of the physiological aspects are being analyzed keeping in mind the changing scenario of agroclimatic changes of present time and future. Growth, development and yield were described on the basis of cellular and morphological manifestations. Peanut being a C3 plant, the photosynthesis and respiration were critically viewed specially under varying environment and genotypes. Nitrogen assimilation and biological nitrogen fixation have been presented in consideration of prevalent environment and gene effects. The role of plant growth regulators on peanut was elaborated mentioning up to date mode of actions.

Special emphasis has been given on mechanisms of abiotic stress effects. In all the Chapters (13), different topics are arranged on the basis of physiological, cellular, biochemical, molecular and genomics concepts"--.
