In central Texas, Jake Barton and his wife Linda Lee live an uncluttered life, simple and peaceful, until one day when he's away and she is shot at their home. He determines to find the person responsible, and so refuses to surrender to the local sheriff. What happens next is a surprising series of twists and turns where nothing is quite as it seems.
