Noted papyrologist Pieter Johannes Sijpesteijn died on May 29th, 1996 after a brief illness. This publication is a collection of papers dedicated to his memory by fellow papyrologists. The contributions present papyri from a range of periods (Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine) reflecting Sijpesteijn's wide interests.
