MiMi Aye was born at the English seaside, but brought up with Burmese sensibilities. Having read Law at Cambridge, she qualified as a solicitor at a top City law firm before going into publishing. An obsession with food, especially Burmese cuisine, led to MiMi starting the food blog meemalee.com where she shares her culinary thoughts, recipes and reviews. Due to her eloquent and often wry turn of phrase, her blog is now popular worldwide, although particularly in the Netherlands for reasons she has never been able to fathom. Recommended by Lonely Planet and Time Out London, MiMi has appeared on BBC Radio 4's Food Programme, and in the Guardian and the Telegraph. Her recipes have been featured on Channel 4 Food to accompany the TV show 'Gordon's Great Escape'. She lives in Kent with her husband, her daughter, and a collection of gashapon.
