Take Care : Warning Signals for Canada's Health System
Most studies of the Canadian health system tend to neglect the role of labour and leave out the effect of the cutbacks on the people who do the bulk of the work. This book aims to correct that imbalance. It examines the modern Canadian health-care system and exposes the impact of neo-conservative and market-oriented policies, showing the negative impact these market-driven changes have had on patients and caregivers, particularly women. The book includes accounts by hospital workers, relating their experiences in the wards.
