Tipping the Sacred Cow
Sacred cows are beasts that societies have deemed untouchable, though they serve no useful purpose and tend to muck-up the countryside. Though we have no such physical beasts in the western culture, we maintain many more intellectual ‘cows’; ideas and ideologies that are not open for discussion unless it is for veneration. Einstein, Jesus, and Keynes are just some of the bovines in the pasture, and though these may seem to be creatures unassailable by mortal man, if you catch them at just the right angle and push.
